The aviation sector is undergoing a transformative phase, and Rotterdam The Hague Airport is not just leading in sustainable innovations; it also plays a strategic role in connecting private and public stakeholders, as well as travelers and neighbors, while shaping a better and brighter future for all.

To realize this vision, we were asked to develop a new positioning and future-proof the brand. The outcome is a brand strategy and identity that celebrates both the literal and figurative closeness and familiarity of the airport, positioning these as its greatest strengths: bringing travelers close to their next destination, the region close to Europe and the world, and the aviation sector close to a future off innovation.

A new look for RTHA


The new logo features lowercase typography that feels strong yet approachable. It is accompanied by an upward "launch line" that represents progress, and seamlessly links to an aircraft's tail and the control tower silhouette—a visual embodiment of the connection between origin and destination.

This line extends beyond the logo, becoming a central element in our graphic language. It intertwines throughout communications, icons, and illustrations, fostering new and distinctive brand expressions across a multitude of touchpoints – from the website and social media to uniforms and firefighting trucks. A truly recognizable and consistent brand presence for Rotterdam The Hague Airport.

A comprehensive rebranding initiative was undertaken to align with the new strategic direction and ensure the brand's readiness for the digital age. This involved creating thorough guidelines to maintain consistency across various platforms and interactions.

The visual elements are seamlessly integrated across all touchpoints encountered throughout travelers' journeys, spanning from communications, to online presence, to signage. This cohesive approach contributes to a robust and unified visual identity in every step of the way.
